“What’s All This Noise About Pronouns?”
Thursday, June 13, 2024
6:30 – 8:30 pm
105 Elm Street Westfield, MA 01085

In 2023, Westfield PRIDE created a number of events to celebrate June’s LGBTQIA+ PRIDE Month. One of those events was an annual, educational forum called “PRIDESpeaks.” Last year, four representatives from Westfield Technical Academy, WSU, PFLAG and Mass Equality (for senior adults) presented resources currently available to LGBTQIA+ members of our community within those four life stages.
Westfield PRIDE is committed to assisting our neighbors in Westfield to understand, appreciate, and enjoy the many advantages the LGBTQIA+ members ad to our community. Respectful communication is the basis of that goal. Following last year’s success in explaining the many available resources to members of our community, we enthusiastically look forward to this year’s insightful instructional.
This June’s forum will focus on explaining a particular trend that needs some clarification and is entitled “So, What’s All This Noise About Pronouns?” Interpersonal communication should always be based in respect. Pronouns are, in fact, being changed from what most of us grew up using. Westfield PRIDE is inviting local individuals from our community to discuss their experience in maintaining a respectful use of an individual’s personal choice of pronouns in ALL communication. Our goal is simply to reduce some of the anxiety being generated by this topic.
This year’s forum will be presented on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 6:30 pm in WOW’s Community Arts Center, located at 105 Elm Street, Westfield, MA.
