Margaret Cho
Known for her stand-up comedy routines, through which she skewers
social and political problems, American actor, comedian, musician and
activist, Margaret Cho has had a bright career in entertainment with five
Emmy and Grammy nominations. Cho’s Korean-American roots in San
Francisco have informed her comedy and activism and she has been
honored for her work against racism, anti-bullying and gay rights. While she
has come out a bisexual, she was given a Lamda Liberty Award for “pressing us to see how false constructions of race, sexuality, and gender
operate similarly to obscure and demean identity.”
